The Apulian company Predict, specialized in innovative technologies in the health sector, took part in the Gitex 2019 – the most important world fair dedicated to artificial intelligence and technological innovation, which took place in Dubai from 6 to 10 October.
Thanks to the initiative of the Regione Puglia in collaboration with the in-house company Puglia Sviluppo, the fair aimed to promote “made in Puglia” digital technologies; even small companies had the opportunity to exhibit their innovations and achieve important results in terms of visibility and opportunities to develop their business.
A concrete case concerned OPTIP, the augmented reality system in holopresence with surprising multidisciplinary applications.
This innovative technology first qualified for the semi-final of the Super Nova Challenge 2019 (which, with approx. 800 participants, has skimmed the proposals of the best 112 start-ups) and, subsequently, has arrived among the 35 finalists.
“Being selected among the 35 best start-ups in the world, for this final challenge – explained Optip HoloHealth project engineer Monica Carella – was a great result that gratifies us. Furthermore, we had the opportunity to present Optip on a prominent stage, showing the potential of our integrated system, and living a human and professional experience full of confrontation and growth “.
Two prestigious finals
Super Nova Challenge 2019 is the largest global start-up competition in the field of GITEX Future Stars, which aims to reward young passionate and innovative entrepreneurs from all over the world and bring them to the fore (also thanks to the contribution of the total 200-thousand-dollar prize).
To understand the importance of this success, we first have to imagine Dubai, one of the cities that most of all in the world represents the future, with its futuristic architecture and its ability to make the future present. Perfect location for Gitex, four days of pure science fiction, where the best realities that develop and produce innovative technological systems are put on display, and where hundreds of journalists and media organizations rush to tap into the greatest stories of the future.
The prestigious final in the Super Nova Challenge is not the only success achieved by the Predict company in Dubai.
As Monica Carella explains, “we were selected to participate in a further competition, to which we initially did not send any application, i.e. the Dubai Future Foundation Competition”. It is an initiative of the investment fund of the Emiro that puts “up for grabs” a special (golden) visa that allows concrete support from the Dubai government for the most promising technologies.
Also for this competition the company reached the final, along with 18 other competitors.
